2. You subscribe to the newsletter or request information material

If you sign up for a Meroda Cosmetics newsletter or ask us to send information material, your personal data will be used to inform you about our products and services. When you purchase a product from Meroda Cosmetics and leave your details, for example by asking a question, we may inform you about other Meroda Cosmetics products in the future.

3. You create an account and shop in our webshop

To place an order through our website, you can register as a customer. You create an account that is password protected and connected to your email address. You provide your details yourself and can also change them at any time by logging into your account.

WHAT DATA

We process the following data:

  • First and last name;
  • Residential or delivery address;
  • Email address;
  • Telephone number;
  • IP address;
  • Products you viewed during the past 60 days;
  • Your account number/account details;
  • Products you ordered;
  • Your last visit and login are also recorded.

We do not process payment details. Payments in our webshop are handled by a third party, a Payment Service Provider (PSP). Through our PSP, you can pay securely in several ways. You only enter your credit card or bank account details on those secure pages and then complete your order there. We only receive confirmation from the PSP that your payment has been received, not your credit card or bank account number. If you choose to pay with Klarna, the same applies, but we also record your date of birth, which is required to authenticate your payment. This information is shared with Klarna.

Meroda Cosmetics uses your data for the following purposes:

The processing of the data above is necessary to carry out your order, in other words, to perform the agreement we have with you.

CUSTOM AUDIENCE TARGETING

When you order products from us and have given us permission, we may also use your email address for custom audience targeting through Facebook. Meroda Cosmetics creates a custom audience by uploading customer email addresses into an advertising tool. This group can then be connected to a specific Facebook campaign, so only those Facebook users see the campaign. If you no longer want to be included in a custom audience advertising tool, you can indicate this at any time by emailing merodacosmeticsfoundation@gmail.com.

4. You shop in our webshop without a login/account

To place an order through our website, you do not need to register as a customer. You provide the data we need to process your order, and you can also change that information yourself at any time.

5. You shop in our webshop while logged into your account, but do not complete your order

When you place products in the shopping cart on our website but, for any reason, do not complete your order and have left your email address, for example because you are logged into your account, we may help you finish the order. We do this by sending you an email with the products that were in your basket.

6. You chat with us

When you remain on a webpage for a longer period, a chat function may be started. You can also start the chat function with Customer Care on the website if you have questions for us. In the chat, you provide a fictitious chat name.

HOW IS YOUR DATA PROTECTED?

Meroda Cosmetics understands that keeping your personal data secure is very important. The data stored in our database is protected using common electronic security techniques, in line with applicable data security standards.

You can access your account only when you enter your email address and password correctly. All passwords and sensitive information are protected by encryption and are never visible to us.

Our websites and web applications are protected by SSL certificates. You can recognize this by the green lock icon to the left of the URL in your browser address bar. All data you send and receive through our website is encrypted and cannot be read by third parties. Data exchange between our websites and our processing partners also takes place through secure connections.

HOW LONG WILL YOUR DATA BE STORED?

Meroda Cosmetics does not retain your data longer than legally allowed and necessary for the purposes for which your data is processed. The retention period depends on the nature of the data and the purposes for which it is processed.

MVB uses the following retention periods:

  • Website visit data: 6 months;
  • Data relating to a complaint or question: up to 6 months after the complaint or question has been handled;
  • Data relating to the purchase of our products: 5 years, the statutory limitation period;
  • Administrative data relating to the purchase of our products: 7 years, the tax retention period.


If unexpected legal proceedings occur, we will retain your data for up to 6 months after the procedure has been definitively completed.

ACCESS AND CORRECTION OF YOUR DATA AND OTHER RIGHTS YOU HAVE

1. Inspection, correction, restriction, and deletion of your data


If you wish, Meroda Cosmetics can provide you with an overview of the personal data we know about you.


If the information is incorrect, or if keeping it conflicts with applicable laws and regulations, we will correct or delete it at your request. Requests for inspection, correction, restriction, or deletion can be submitted at any time by sending an email to merodacosmeticsfoundation@gmail.com. Meroda Cosmetics will then delete or adjust your data within 4 weeks after confirmation. We will respond to your request within 4 weeks.

2. Making an objection

If you disagree with a certain processing of your data, you may object to the processing at any time by sending an email to merodacosmeticsfoundation@gmail.com. After receiving your email, we will respond to your objection as soon as possible, and in any case within 4 weeks.

3. Data portability

You have the right to data portability. This means you have the right to receive the personal data you provided to us in a usable form so that you can transfer it to another controller. If you would like to receive your data in such a form, you can send an email to merodacosmeticsfoundation@gmail.com. We will then contact you as soon as possible to discuss the format in which you would like to receive the data. We will respond to your request within 4 weeks. If the request is complex, we will inform you within 4 weeks that we need up to 2 additional months to respond substantively to your request. The response term for complex requests is therefore a maximum of 3 months.
